If you are a high school senior planning to attend college or a trade school next year, consider applying for a Kent Community Foundation scholarship to help fund your education. Most of the scholarships have an April 1 deadline. Deadlines and details, including scholarship qualifications and applications, are available on the Kent Community Foundation website.

Scholarships include:

Richard & Ina Balash Scholarship, senior residing in Covington who plans to participate in business or engineering/technology training.

Covington Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, senior residing in Covington who plans to participate in business training.

Kent Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, senior who plans to attend a two-year or vocational-technical institute in the state of Washington.

Ron Osborne Scholarship, Kent-Meridian High School senior involved in athletics who plans to attend a two or four-year college in the state of Washington.

Linda K. Ruby Scholarship, senior who plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a career in teaching.

Friends of KM Scholarship, graduating Kent-Meridian senior attending an accredited post-secondary institution. Scholarship is based on financial need.

Thunderbird Community Sports Foundation Scholarship, senior who plans to pursue sports-related fields of study in college or university.

Bob Armstrong Tennis Scholarship, Kentridge High School senior tennis player planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

Johnson/Stoddard/Osness Family (JSO) Scholarship, senior who plans to pursue a post-secondary education in Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics (STEM). Priority will be given to applications who are the first in their family to attend college.
