EDITED–Free FROYO at Yogurtland, Wednesday, 4 to 7 PM — UPDATED
Wednesday is free International Frozen Yogurt Day and Yogurt-Land in Kent (10216 SE 256th S. St., Kent, WA 98030) is celebrating. Get free Froyo Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. (It was supposed to be today, Feb. 6, but Yogurtland rescheduled due to the snow.)

 

 

 

 

Kent Arts Commissions launches Kent Creates
The Kent Arts Commission developed Kent Creates to give residents the opportunity to exercise and share their own creativity and to build community through creative pursuits, says Ronda Billerbeck, Cultural Programs Manager for the City of Kent. 4Culture is now accepting grant applications to support individual and group projects for arts, heritage and historic preservation. Sound Transit Board approves latest light rail project
Last week the Sound Transit board voted to extend the light rail along the west side of Interstate 5 to Federal Way which includes a stop in Kent/Des Moines. The 7.8 mile route will extend from the Angle Lake station in SeaTac to the rail station at S. 320th St. and 23rd Ave. S. in Federal Way. Kent 50+ Program to host ‘Leave a Legacy of Love’ workshop on Valentine’s Day

Tacoma Stars to host Military Appreciation Night Feb. 12
The Tacoma Stars will honor the military at Military Appreciation Night on Sunday, February 12. Proceeds from the event will benefit OARS (Outreach and Resource Services for Women Veterans). Special premium ticket packages are available for $28 each and reserved seats are $11 each. iLoveKent will be giving away two club seats for the event, along with a parking pass. Two ways to deter auto thefts in Kent
Auto thefts in Kent are on the rise, but the Kent Police Department says there are two ways residents can help. 1) Do not leave your vehicle running and unattended, whether you are warming up your car in the morning or stopping at a store or gas station. About half of all daytime auto thefts are a result of leaving your car running. 2) If you have a Honda or older import, the police dept. recommends you purchase The Club to deter auto theft.
