The next session of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will begin on Thursday, March 8, and registration is now open.

When widespread disasters strike – such as floods, windstorms or an earthquake – emergency responders and City workers will be overwhelmed. This course is designed to give residents the skills and confidence to safely help themselves and others when help is delayed.

This eight week program has an afternoon session that meets on Thursdays from 1 – 4:30 p.m., and an evening session on Thursdays from 6 – 9:30 p.m., starting March 8.

This session is open to area residents as well as City Employees and their family members.

“Help ensure that your family will be prepared for a major disaster and able to care for themselves if you are unable to get to them quickly and until help arrives.”

This is a FREE training opportunity.

The Puget Sound Fire CERT program serves the areas of Kent, Covington, SeaTac/Burien and Fire District 37.
