A suspect armed with a taser carjacked a vehicle from a parking lot at Highline College on Wednesday, Jan. 24, according to Des Moines Police.

Police say that the incident occurred at around 1:55 p.m. Wednesday in the lower portion of the South Lot (map below).

The suspect approached the victim’s vehicle, opened the door and displayed a taser while instructing her to exit it. The victim complied, and the suspect drove off campus with the victim’s vehicle – a 2004 silver Saturn Vue.

The suspect has been described by the victim as a “tall black male wearing a black hoodie.”

Kent Police also reported that a suspect matching this description – and also armed with a taser – stole a red Dodge Charger with a ‘Baby on Board’ sticker at 272nd Street in Kent earlier that day.

The Des Moines Police Department and Highline College Department of Public Safety are investigating this incident.
