Last Saturday (March 10) we had great weather for the Grand Reopening of Hogan Park on Russell Road.

Below are some video highlights from that fun event.

Named after former Kent Mayor Isabel Hogan, the park now features multi-use synthetic turf for year-round play.

The City of Kent said in a blog post:

Hogan Park’s multipurpose field will also allow the Kent Parks Department to expand Youth and Adult Programming, providing additional space for Kent School District programs and offer year-round recreational space for many area youth and adult sports teams.

The City combined two grants totaling $750,000 from the Recreation Conservation Office and a $25,000 donation from the Kent Lions Club to its own investment to fund the project.

This summer Hogan Park will host 60 tournaments, bringing more than 65,000 players and visitors to Kent.
