The Washington State Patrol is reporting that a four-car collision late Monday night (April 9) killed two on SR 516 in Kent.

The two people killed were identified as Freddie Ili, 36, and Faalfua Ili, 38, both from Federal Way.

Troopers say that Faalfua Ili’s vehicle was traveling the wrong way in the westbound lanes of SR 516/Kent-Des Moines Road around 11:35 p.m. – near the intersection with Meeker – when he side-swiped another, causing it to spinout.

This caused a multi-car collision.

Another vehicle veered to avoid the collision, struck a guardrail, then the second vehicle.

Police closed the roadway for 5 hours and 44 minutes.

Here are the conditions of the four crash victims who were taken Harborview Medical Center:

  • Female, 5, is serious in intensive care.
  • Male, 59, is critical in intensive care.
  • Female, 54, is serious in intensive care.
  • Female, 43, is satisfactory.
