Kent Police are reporting that a 25-year old man was shot and killed on the East Hill early Thursday morning, June 14.

Police say that at around 1:56 a.m., they responded to a report of a man being shot in the area of 22400 Benson Rd SE (map below).

Upon arrival, the 25-year old male victim from Kent was found shot and unresponsive. CPR was initiated; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Early investigation indicates that there was a dispute between the victim and another individual who fled the scene before police arrived.

“There is limited suspect information and nothing conclusive to release at this time,” Police said.

Preliminary reports indicate that this was not a random incident, according to witnesses at the location. This investigation is still in its early stages, and the relationship between the suspect and the victim is still being determined.

Investigators are still interviewing potential witnesses, processing the crime scene, and following up on all available leads.
