The Kent 50 Plus Program’s Expanding Your Mind series will be presenting ‘A Daughter Remembers’ on Friday, Aug. 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kent Senior Activity Center.

This is an exclusive workshop by Judy Rantz Willman, daughter of Joe Rantz, whose life was chronicled in the New York Times bestseller “The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown.

Judy will talk about her role in the “birth” of the book, share some stories about her father, and speculate on why the book has had such a powerful effect on people. Her talk will be accompanied by vintage slides and footage of the actual race when the University of Washington’s eight-man crew beat the heavily-favored Germans in Hitler’s 1936 Olympics in Berlin.

There is no charge but space is limited so pre-registration is highly suggested. For more information or to pre-register, call 253-856-5164 and ask for Class #65919.

The session will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 East Smith Street, Kent, WA 98030:
