A group of immigrant farmers is breathing new life back into one of eight sprawling greenhouses that have sat dormant in Auburn for a decade.

The farmers will show off the season’s first bounty at an open house scheduled for this Saturday, July 14, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Farmers are growing varieties of indigenous African vegetables, the newest superfoods, providing food not just for their families, but their communities as well.

Along with being sold at the Living Well Kent Farmers Market held the last Friday of each month, fresh produce from the Auburn Greenhouse Project is also distributed to food banks in South King County.

Come see the fruits of their labor, hear their stories, and learn about this unique collaboration between Northwest Harvest, Living Well Kent and King Conservation District.

Follow the signs to the Greenhouse Project located at 5000 Auburn Way.
