The Greater Kent Historical Society and Museum is searching for information on the historic Lunar Rover Space Buggy Project, which was built right here in Kent by Boeing in 1969.

This local creation traveled to the moon on Apollo Missions 15, 16, and 17, and is still parked up there somewhere. Numerous residents worked on this invention, and the society/museum is seeking more artifacts.

The Kent Downtown Partnership is still raising funds for a Lunar Rover replica in a downtown park, which will “foster community pride, honor our past, fuel our kids’ imaginations and inspire us to imagine what’s possible in the future.”
