Kent Police are reporting that an adult man was most likely struck and killed by a vehicle at around the same time that a shooting occured at Sam’s Sports Bar in the 23900 block of 104th Ave SE (map below) in Kent early Saturday, Dec. 15.

Police say that life-saving efforts were immediately started on the victim, but they were unsuccessful and the man was pronounced deceased.

The cause of death for the male is still being investigated, but initial indications are that he was struck by a vehicle.

Police add that – at the same time – Officers were responding to reports of a shooting nearby at Sam’s Sports Bar.

Witnesses of the shooting stated that an altercation erupted, resulting in gunfire. During the incident two males received non-life threatening gunshot wounds. One of the males was shot in the foot, while the other was shot in the arm. The two 21-year old males were treated at local hospitals for their injuries.

It is unknown at this time the relationship between the deceased male to the incident at Sam’s Sports Bar.

Kent Detectives continue to investigate and gather information of circumstances that unfolded.

  1. It was about 1:40am when i heard about 12 repeated gunshots. I turned my radio volume down and then heard about 8 more, seemed to have different sound, as if from a different firearm, returning fire. I drove down the block to the location and found the man laying on the street in front of Sam’s sports bar with police performing CPR. The life saving attempt lasted about 15 minutes, which then i had assumed it was unsuccessful. Then fire trucks arrived, followed by ambulance.
