At Tuesday night’s Kent City Council meeting, Parks Director Julie Parascondola announced that Riverbend Golf Complex will be welcoming Half Lion Brewing Co. to open a restaurant/bar.
The Half Lion Public House will be opening at the Riverbend Golf Complex in June 2019. That restaurant space has been vacant since April, 2017.
In April of 2018, City staff sought interest by new restaurant concessionaires through the request for proposal process and began conversations with several interested parties spanning multiple months, ultimately deciding on moving forward with Half Lion Brewing Company, LLC.
This new brewpub will serve traditional American Pub food, along with Half Lion and domestic beers on tap.
On top of a full bar in the restaurant, Half Lion will be bringing beverage cart service back to the golf course.
Much like their Taproom in Sumner, the new Half Lion Public House will offer a rustic and comfortable space that will be “another great place for family and friends to gather and have fun.”
“We are excited to grow, and to build a partnership with the City of Kent to continue economic development within the city,” owners said in a statement. “We also look forward to working within the Kent community, continuing to build our Half Lion Family. Keep an eye out on www.HalfLion.com and our social media for updates and job postings.”
Half Lion Brewery & Taproom opened in Sumner in February 2016. Half Lion beer can now be found on tap from Tukwila to Olympia in over 200 locations. The Half Lion tasting room hosts weekly trivia, live music, and private events. The Half Lion Family is proud to support the community whenever possible. Half Lion has helped raise well over $250,000 to local charities and groups for different needs in our surrounding area, in our first three years of business and will enjoy building our community support into the Kent area
Woo hoo!! Glad to hear of a brewpub coming! The diversity of them can help a lot!
