No foolin’ – the deadline to submit online comments about saving Dick’s Drive-In (and Lowe’s and several other businesses) from Sound Transit’s wrecking ball is Monday, April 1.

Sound Transit is seeking comments about potential sites for an operations and maintenance facility (OMF) that could be built in Kent.

Among the site options are the Midway landfill on Pacific Highway South, which is ripe for redevelopment, and the site of Dick’s Drive-In and Lowe’s, just down the street from the landfill.

“The landfill is our preferred choice,” Mayor Dana Ralph said. “We’d like Sound Transit to remove the Dick’s/Lowe’s site from consideration. Choosing the latter site would displace existing businesses, and it would make our Midway subarea plan for transit-oriented commercial and residential development impossible.”

Submit your comments online at OMFSouth.Participate.Online until April 1.
