Three high school seniors – including one from Kentwood High School – recently topped off their high school careers with extra money for college from Denali Federal Credit Union.

Each scholar will receive $5,000 towards their Fall 2019 semester:

- Vivian Ma – Kentwood High School, Kent, WA. Vivian will attend the University of Washington, and will major in biology with the goal of becoming a pharmacist.
- Nikira Lane – Dimond High School, Anchorage, AK. Nikira has yet to determine where she’ll attend school in the fall 2019 semester, but plans to pursue a degree in agriculture engineering.
- Maximus Addington – Dimond High School, Anchorage, AK. Maximus will attend the University of Denver, and will pursue in engineering.

Denali developed the scholarship program to reward its young members in high school who demonstrated excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities, and volunteerism in their communities. As a financial institution the credit union believes that supporting young adults is not only imperative to their individual success, but to our community as a whole. Since 2003, Denali has donated $225,000 through the scholarship program.

This year Denali received many applications for the scholarships. Denali is a cooperative that strives to give back to its members and the scholarship program is just one of the ways the credit union provides support to its community.
