It was one year ago today (July 22, 2018) that Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno was tragically killed in the line of duty, and the Kent Police Department released the following video to celebrate him:

Also, Airways Brewing will be releasing a new beer – ‘2K56 IPA’ – after a call sign frequently used by Moreno, which will be unveiled at a fundraising event on Aug. 2, 2019.

This event will raise money to help complete funding for the Diego Moreno Memorial Scholarship at WSU set up by Diego’s family in his name. The scholarship will be available annually for a senior that is a certified major in criminal justice.

Starting at 4 p.m., they’ll be releasing the brew at the Airways Brewing Company Tap Room & Brewery at 8611 S 212th St., Kent WA, 98031. A portion of the sales from this batch of beer will go to the scholarship.
