The Kent Police Department on Wednesday afternoon (July 24) announced that – for the second day in a row – a train has hit a pedestrian at a railroad crossing downtown.
Police say the accident happened at the crossing at 212th and 77th (map below).
No word yet on the official condition of the pedestrian, but according to a Tweet from Tom Ryan (see below), a rider on a southbound Sounder train, it was also a fatality.
As we previously reported, on Tuesday morning, July 23, a pedestrian was killed when they were struck by a train near 1st Ave S. & W. Willis Street.
“Expect traffic delays and avoid the area if possible,” police added.

Tried an early exit from work and my Sounder train hit someone just past Tukwila. Fatally and a big delay, very sad and not getting home anytime soon.
