Sound Transit has completed its conceptual design for proposed parking and access improvements at the Kent Sounder station, and they’ll be holding an Open House on Monday, Oct. 14, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Green River College’s Kent campus.
The project includes construction of a new parking garage at East James Street and Railroad Avenue North as well as improvements to pedestrian, bicycle and bus connections.
The open house will be held at Green River College’s Kent Campus, Room 283, located at 417 Ramsey Way.
Attendees will learn more about the project, including conceptual design, added bus layover space and proposed environmental mitigations.

Under state law, Sound Transit analyzed potential environmental impacts and benefits of the project and issued a Determination of Nonsignificance. Sound Transit is accepting public comments on this analysis from October 7 – 21.

The Sound Transit 2 ballot measure, voter-approved in 2008, provided funding for improving commuter access to Sounder train stations.
