Washington State Patrol Detectives are requesting assistance in identifying a black 1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee that was involved in a fatal rollover collision on SR 169 on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020.

Troopers say that at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2020, they responded to a one car rollover collision on SR 169 near Jones Road (map below).

A Mercedes SUV was reportedly traveling northbound on SR 169 from the Cedar Grove Road at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway and rolled just south of Jones Road. The driver died as a result of the collision.

The suspect vehicle was described as being shiny black with dark tinted windows and in pristine condition.

It is believed the driver may be from the Kent area and frequents the Cedar River area near Cedar Grove Road. Police add that this vehicle and driver is also associated with a grey/light blue Infinity.

WSP detectives are seeking any witnesses that observed the collision or what occurred leading up the collision.

Detectives are also asking for anyone that may have been in the area during this incident with dash camera video to also contact detectives.
