A car causing a chain reaction collision fled the scene.

The Washington State Patrol is asking for witnesses of a multiple-vehicle collision, resulting in serious injuries, on northbound I-405, south of 167. The accident occurred Saturday, September 9, 2017 around 5:54 PM.

Witnesses said a red four-door passenger car (unknown plate, make or model) was traveling in Lane 1 of 4 and made a lane change into Lane 2, striking a Toyota station wagon occupied by four people. The Toyota lost control and collided with the left side of a WSDOT jersey barrier, and came to rest facing sideways across Lane 3. A GMC Yukon occupied by a driver was traveling in Lane 3, colliding (T-boning) into the Toyota.

Three of the four occupants of the Toyota suffered serious injuries, consisting of broken bones and lacerations that required stitches. The sole occupant of the GMC suffered minor injuries.
