A double shooting in Kent Tuesday night (July 10) killed a woman and sent a man to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police say that at approximately 10:47 p.m. Tuesday night, patrol units responded to the parking lot of 12990 SE Kent Kangley Road (map below) for reports of a shooting incident.

Deputies arrived to the area where they found two gunshot victims – an adult female seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, and an adult male that was in the passenger seat of the same vehicle.

The female, a Federal Way resident, was non-responsive. Lifesaving efforts were performed, but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male, a Kent resident, was conscious but in grave condition. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center, and his condition at this time is unknown.

The suspect is still at large; however this does not appear to be a random incident, police said.

“There is limited information as this investigation is in its early stages. Investigators are still gathering information from witnesses and are collecting evidence from the scene, working to clarify the events that led to this shooting incident and ultimately to the shooter.”

  1. Come on! Supper sad! If people fished more than they shot, life would be survived. I know sometimes I get so mad at individuals who harm others intentionally, as protection orders matter. i joke about throwing gummy bears at jerk Giants who dominate, control people by abuse. I even recommend police use them instead as gummy bears are not dangerous, even when thrown but, rather chewy, soft, harmless. Can be used as humorous way to deescalate even the worst of criminals if and when thrown right and no one can talk for a few minutes when mouth is full, teeth are chewing. Not like guns, where bullets are life gone, detrimental. People need to trade in their arms for fishing poles and gummy bears. Seriously. Death is super unfair, very hard. For all parties. Trust me. I know.
