Andrea Keikkala, the Chief Executive Officer of the Kent Chamber of Commerce for the past 10 years, announced that she will be leaving the business organization.

Keikkala will take a new gig as Executive Director with Washington Business Week.

“Andrea has shown great leadership through challenging economic times for our businesses and community,” said April Sta. Rosa, Chamber President. “With Kent’s unique diversity of industries and as a substantial contributor to our state’s manufacturing and distribution economic engine, Andrea’s passion for our community has been integral to developing strategies to meet the varying business needs. Her engagement with the South Sound Chamber of Commerce Legislative Coalition, Puget Sound Gateway Coalition, YMCA Board of Directors, Rotary and others have brought valuable insight, advocacy and engagement for our membership.”

The Chamber will be looking for a new CEO, and a job description can be downloaded here.

“Having worked with Andrea for the last four years, I have greatly appreciated her leadership with government affairs information and advocacy as well as workforce development programing in partnership with the Kent School District and our local technical colleges,” Sta. Rosa added. “I have no doubt that Andrea’s passion and experience will make her a great asset to her new organization!”

The Chamber is asking its members to share this opportunity with their contacts who would be qualified for this role, “and are passionate about business development and growth,” according to a statement.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and Chamber staff, we thank you for your continued support and engagement. Together, we can do great things in 2019!” Sta. Rosa said.
