On Friday, May 3, late Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor by the state of Washington, and his family was there to accept it for him.
The Medal of Honor is awarded by Washington State to law enforcement officers who, while in the performance of their duties as law enforcement officers, have been killed, seriously injured or distinguished themselves by exceptional meritorious conduct.
“We were proud and honored to stand with his family and other members of our blue family today,” police said in a statement.
