A 55-year-old Kent man was killed Saturday night, Dec. 13, 2025 in a hit and run collision on SR 516 near Meeker Street, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The collision was reported at 11:46 p.m., and Troopers said a vehicle traveling eastbound on SR 516 just east of Meeker struck a pedestrian who was in lane two of two.
Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, WSP said.
Troopers said that the driver did not stop and continued eastbound on SR 516.
The roadway was blocked for approximately three hours and 30 minutes while the investigation was underway.
The pedestrian was identified as Cipriano Valdovinos Pio, a 55-year-old Kent resident, the patrol said. Next of kin notifications have been completed.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Troopers said one vehicle was involved, and no other injuries were reported.
Whether drugs or alcohol were factors was listed as unknown.
