All lanes of northbound SR 167 at South 180th Street in Kent have reopened following a multi-vehicle collision that shut down the highway Sunday, April 12, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Earlier in the day, northbound lanes were fully blocked as crews responded to the crash, which caused significant delays for drivers traveling through the Kent area.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash involved five vehicles and was classified as a hit and run. Trooper Rick Johnson reported that the driver believed to have caused the crash fled on foot and remained at large as of the initial response.

Authorities said there were injuries reported in the collision, but none were considered life threatening.

WSDOT advised travelers to expect delays and use alternate routes while the roadway was closed. Tow trucks were dispatched to clear the scene, though no estimated time for reopening was initially available.

Real time travel information is available through the WSDOT mobile app, travel map and email alert system.
