The 2026 Men in Black Birthday Bash Festival – coming this Saturday, June 20 – is inviting attendees to embrace what organizers call the world’s simplest and funniest cosplay contest by channeling one of “Saturday Night Live’s” most memorable alien abductees.
Festival organizers announced that this year’s event will feature a lookalike contest inspired by comedian Kate McKinnon’s recurring SNL character, Colleen Rafferty.
According to the Men in Black Birthday Bash Festival, Rafferty has been “repeatedly abducted by aliens, released, and interviewed by the MIB,” making the character a perfect fit for the festival’s extraterrestrial theme.
The festival described the contest as “the world’s simplest and funniest cosplay on this or any other planet.”
This annual, humorous event will take place at The Quarterdeck in Des Moines and start at 5:30 p.m. this Saturday, June 20.
