Firefighters from Puget Sound Fire swiftly responded to a 100-by-200-foot brush fire in the 25100 block of Pacific Highway South in Kent on Saturday, July 12, 2025, extinguishing the flames within an hour.

Crews arrived on scene shortly after the fire was reported and began containment efforts to prevent the fire from spreading toward nearby structures.

“No structures were damaged,” Puget Sound Fire said in a statement.

Firefighters fully extinguished the blaze in about 60 minutes.

The cause of the fire has not yet been released.

The fire, which occurred in a heavily trafficked area, briefly raised concerns about smoke and visibility but did not impact traffic or require evacuations.
