Kent residents will have a chance to recycle hard-to-dispose items for free during a community event this Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hogan Park (map below).

The Kent Residential Recycling Collection Event allows residents to safely drop off items that are not accepted at the curb.

The city said everything collected will be reused or recycled, not sent to the landfill.

Entry will close after 3 p.m., and commercial loads will not be accepted.

The event is part of Kent’s seasonal recycling program, which is offered in spring, summer and fall to provide an alternative to paying dump fees or risking illegal dumping.

More details and a list of accepted items are available at KentWA.gov/TalkingTrash. Residents with questions can email TDonati@KentWA.gov by Oct. 10.
