Parents know that when school is out finding fun, engaging activities for kids can be a challenge. This summer get them out of the house and keep them active while enjoying time with friends at the City of Kent’s summer day camp, Camp WALKAPALA.
“New experiences will be happening this summer at Camp WALKAPALA where K-6thgraders will get to participate in hands-on S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics) projects and encouraged to analyze, ask thoughtful questions, test their knowledge and problem solve, all while having fun,” said Maureen McCaughan. “This new component will keep their minds active and engaged as they get creative and think outside the box to work through the daily challenges together.“
Camp WALKAPALA and its variety of sports, arts and crafts and field trips designed especially for K-6th graders are held every weekday from June 27 until August 17 at East Hill Elementary from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Camp WALKAPALA also offers a Counselor In Training program for teens going into 7th, 8th and 9th grades who are interested in acquiring the skills necessary to become a counselor.
