On Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, the Kent community came together and raised $28,000 at the annual “Walk for the Babies,” an event aimed at raising funds for the Pediatric Interim Care Center (PICC), a local nonprofit that provides specialized medical care for drug-exposed newborns.
Hundreds of participants, including families, local organizations, and volunteers, walked to show their support. The funds raised will directly benefit the medical and rehabilitative care provided by PICC, ensuring that vulnerable infants receive the critical attention they need in their early stages of life.
“Thank you to everyone that walked and donated,” Kent Mayor Dana Ralph said. “Thank you to the amazing dancers from Allegro Performing Arts Academy, Puget Sound Fire and Kent Police Department for being there and thank you to all the generous sponsors.”
The Walk for the Babies event was made possible thanks to the generosity of its many sponsors, and organizers expressed their deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from participants and donors alike. The funds raised will allow PICC to continue offering vital services to infants and families in need across the region.
