Family members have launched an online fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses for Jessica Vasquez, 37, and her unborn child after she was struck by a vehicle in Kent last week.
According to loved ones, Vasquez was eight months pregnant when she was tragically hit by a car on Dec. 26.
Sadly, neither she nor her baby survived.
Vasquez’s brother, Romeo, created a fundraiser on GoFundMe to assist with funeral costs and shared a message remembering his sister.
“Jessica was known as a kind, joyful, and respectful person, she always knew how to make you laugh and always lit up the room with her presence,” he wrote. “Every time she came over it was the best feeling in the world because we knew we were going to have a great time. It’s so sad that her life was cut short.”
The fundraiser is titled “In loving memory of Jessica and her baby” with a goal of raising $2,400 for the family as they grieve and make funeral arrangements.
The deaths of Vasquez and her unborn child are under investigation by the Kent Police Department.
