The SeaTac Farmers Market will offer more than just fresh produce and basic necessities this Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024 – organizers announced that they will also distribute free school supplies to local families during the market.

Starting at 3 p.m. when the market opens in the parking lot of Matt Griffin YMCA (map below), backpacks filled with school essentials such as notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, markers, erasers, and sticky notes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organizers are encouraging parents or guardians to bring their children to the market, as one backpack with supplies will be given per child present.

For adults attending without children, one backpack will be offered per adult.

The event is part of the market’s ongoing efforts to support the community by providing not only food but also essential items to help families prepare for the upcoming school year.
