A special screening of the documentary “State Organs” will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Auburn (map below).
The 76-minute film will be followed by a Q&A session with the producers and activists involved.
Directed by Peabody Award-winner Raymond Zhang and featuring music by Emmy Award-winning composer Daryl Bennett, “State Organs” tells the harrowing story of two young people who went missing in mainland China. Their families’ 20-year search led them through rejection and the revelation of a shocking state crime, ultimately finding hope through the revival of traditional faith in China.
The Q&A session will be moderated by Christine Gilge, founder of Compassion Washington, and will feature the following panelists:
- Raymond Zhang, Director of “State Organs”
- Cindy Song, Producer of “State Organs”
- Wen Chen, Chinese Human Rights Activist
- Shirley Hu, Rotary Action Group Against Modern Slavery (RAGAS)
Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP via this link.
The event is co-sponsored by Compassion Washington, Tacoma South Rotary Club, and the Rotary Satellite Club of Ending Forced Organ Harvesting. For further information, contact info@efoh.org.
