A 32-year-old man from Kent was taken into custody this week by Tukwila Police Department Traffic Unit detectives and booked into jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide following a fatal collision earlier this month in Tukwila, police said.

The arrest stems from a Jan. 9 crash near South 200th Street and Orilla Road South, where a semi-truck driven by the suspect collided with a box truck, according to Tukwila police.

Sadly, the driver of the box truck, a 27-year-old man from Kent, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and later died, police said.

Following an investigation, Traffic Unit detectives determined there was probable cause to charge the semi-truck driver with vehicular homicide, based on the facts of the case, police said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail.
