Kent Police detectives are investigating after the remains of an unidentified man were found Monday evening in a brushy area near the intersection of 94th Ave South and Canyon Drive.
Police said that officers responded shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, after a witness called 911 to report finding a body in the bushes near the intersection.
When officers arrived, they found the remains of an adult male. Police said the level of decomposition indicated the death likely occurred a significant time before the body was discovered.
Kent police detectives responded to investigate. The man has not yet been identified.
Police said there were no obvious signs indicating the death was a homicide, but detectives have not ruled out that possibility as the investigation continues.
Representatives from the Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene. The office will examine the remains to determine the cause of death and confirm the identity of the deceased, according to police.
