The City of Kent will host a free residential recycling collection event on Saturday, Mar. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hogan Park (map below).
According to the city, the event is open to Kent residents and is designed to provide a safe and convenient way to recycle items not accepted through regular curbside service.
No entry will be allowed after 3 p.m., and commercial loads will be turned away.
Only listed items will be accepted, with no exceptions, the city said. Instead of going to the landfill as trash, collected materials will be reused or recycled.
Residents with questions can email ITDonati@KentWA.gov by March 6. Additional details, including a list of accepted materials, are available at KentWA.gov/TalkingTrash.
The event is part of Kent’s ongoing efforts to reduce landfill waste and keep recyclable materials out of the trash stream.
Each year the City of Kent hosts a number of FREE recycling collection events that allow residents to dispose of recyclable items not accepted at the curb.
