The 2026 Wastemobile season will begin in mid February, offering King County residents free and convenient options to safely dispose of household hazardous waste at rotating collection sites through October, according to King County.
A local stop is set for Feb. 20 through Feb. 22 in Kent at Puget Sound Fire Station #75, 15635 SE 272nd St., Kent (map below).
Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The service is intended to help residents safely get rid of common hazardous household products during cleanouts or routine home maintenance. Accepted items include batteries, oil based paint, antifreeze, pesticides and many other hazardous materials. Officials advise checking the full list of accepted items and quantity limits before arriving.
County staff provided several safety tips to help events run smoothly. Residents should not mix products, keep items in their original containers when possible, label anything that is not, and secure materials to prevent spills or leaks. Products should be stored in a trunk, truck bed or trailer and separated from personal belongings. Drivers are asked to remain in their vehicles and follow on site staff directions.
