Meet (and adopt) Laika, RASKC’s Pet of the Week:

Laika is a 2-and-a-half-year-old female German Shepherd mix who’s ready to come home with you. She was brought in by a good Samaritan last July and has been in a wonderful foster home for the past few months.

In Laika’s foster home, she gets along well with her foster mom and the resident dogs who in all different sizes. When meeting a new dog, Laika would de best with a very slow introduction. It may take her a bit to warm up to another dog, but with consistency they can be best friends!

Laika is very smart, affectionate, and is motivated to learn! Because of her history as a stray, she can be fearful of other dogs and sometimes strangers. She would be most successful with a space to build her confidence with minimum stressors. Laika isn’t ready for a dog park (and may never be) or a home with a lot visitors. Her ideal home would have a place where she can run around and burn off some energy and then be able to be a couch potato with her favorite person for the rest of the day.

While Laika may be shy at first, once she trusts you she will be incredibly loving and want to be by your side.

Laika is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped! Her adoption comes with many benefits in addition to the love and snuggles she will give, including a King County pet license (if applicable) and a $40 credit for training through Rover.

As Pet of the Week, Laika’s adoption fee has been reduced!

If you are ready to fall in love with this shy, affectionate girl, go visit Laika at RASKC. RASKC is open weekdays from Noon to 5 p.m., and weekends from Noon to 4 p.m.
