And on Sunday, Dec. 2, Magical Strings 32nd Annual Kent Celtic Yuletide Concert at Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center, 10020 SE 256th St., Kent, at 3 p.m.

Molly Ringwald acts, writes books, and sings jazz. Along with her quartet, she brings a crowd-pleasing concert to venues around the world. The New York Times says, “The spin she brings to the American Songbook is thoroughly contemporary.” Since her debut Jazz album “Except Sometimes” was released in 2013 on Concord Records, Ringwald and her band have performed over 200 concerts in seven countries. An actress of stage and screen, Ringwald earned a Golden Globe nomination at age thirteen, and went on to star in numerous films, including the iconic films Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink. On stage, Ringwald starred in Broadway productions of the Pulitzer Prize winning How I Learned to Drive; the revival of Cabaret; Tony-nominated Enchanted April, and the West End production of When Harry Met Sally.

The Boulding Family’s musical celebration of the holiday season is a treasured tradition in Kent. Once again, Pam and Philip Boulding are joined by their children, grandchildren and guests for an afternoon of enchanting Yuletide music. The Bouldings perform on Celtic harps, hammered dulcimers, whistles, strings, percussion, and harp-like instruments from around the world. Guests add Irish step dancing, drumming, and storytelling for a festive and memorable performance.
