Kent’s Domestic Abuse Women’s Network (DAWN) is inviting area residents to a free Purple Light Nights community walk at Kent Station this Thursday night, Oct. 8 to support domestic violence awareness.

The event will begin with check-in and purple swag at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 1-kilometer walk with Cool Bird at 6 p.m. Community reflections are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

DAWN encourages participants to wear purple and bring family members, friends and coworkers.

Pets are welcome, and participants bringing them should bring cleanup supplies.

Participants can register online here.

Those unable to attend can support survivors through a monthly contribution to DAWN’s Circle of Light, according to the organization.
