State Route 516 reopened in both directions Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2025, after an earlier incident near milepost 5 east of SR 167 shut down all lanes, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The incident occurred near the city of Kent, and WSDOT classified the blockage as high impact.
The agency confirmed that its Incident Response Team had arrived at the scene by 11:57 a.m.
“On SR 516 eastbound & westbound just east of SR 167 (MP 5) there is an incident blocking all lanes,” WSDOT reported at 12:04 p.m. “Incident Response is on scene. Expect delays and seek alternate routes.”
Full details about the cause of the blockage have not yet been released.
