Kent Police are investigating two separate fatal incidents that occurred within hours of each other early Sunday morning, May 24, including a fiery crash that killed two men and a fatal shooting at an apartment complex in the Kent Valley.
Fiery Crash
The first incident occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday, May 24, when Kent Police officers, Puget Sound Fire and medics responded to the 21800 block of 68th Ave South (map below) for reports of a vehicle that had crashed into a pole and caught fire, according to the Kent Police Department.
Responders arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames after it struck an electric pole. Once the fire was extinguished, authorities discovered two adult men, ages 38 and 44, deceased inside the vehicle.
Witnesses told investigators the vehicle had been traveling southbound on 68th Avenue South and may have sideswiped another vehicle shortly before crashing into the pole.
The Kent Police Traffic Unit responded to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

About three hours later, at 3:59 a.m., Kent Police officers, medics and Puget Sound Fire responded to the Chandlers Bay apartment complex in the 8700 block of South 235th Place (map below) for reports of a man with gunshot wounds.
According to police, officers found a 25 year old man in the parking lot and immediately began lifesaving efforts while other officers secured the scene. Medics later took over treatment, but the man died at the scene.
The suspect has not been identified, police said.
Kent Police detectives took over the homicide investigation. Initial information indicates the shooting was an isolated incident, according to police.
