UPDATE***Detectives have made an arrest in this homicide. A juvenile male was arrested and booked into the King County Youth Detention Center earlier this week. At this point, there is no new information about what led to the fight that occurred just prior to the shooting. Detectives are still actively investigating this incident.
A 27 year old Burien man was shot and killed in White Center November 6th. Witnesses said the victim had been involved in a physical fight with suspect prior to the shooting.
November 6th around 10:40 deputies responded to a report of a man shot near SW96th St and 15 Ave S. When deputies arrived they found a man on the ground not breathing. Deputies administered CPR until Medics arrived but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that a group of men were with talking with the victim prior to the shooting. The suspect who was with the group of men fought with the victim. When the fight was over the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The men fled the scene on foot.
King County Guardian One and K-9 responded but were unable to locate the suspect or the men he was with. The only description obtained was that the suspect was wearing a red hoodie.
Identity of the victim will be confirmed and released by the King County Medical Examiners Office.
