UPDATE: Southbound SR 167 reopened in Kent and Auburn on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, following an extended closure due to floodwater from the Green River, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

On-ramps to southbound SR 167 also have reopened in this area.

Northbound SR 167 Still Closed

Northbound SR 167 remains closed between South 212th Street (milepost 22) in Kent and 15th Street Northwest (milepost 16) in Auburn due to standing water on the highway. On-ramps to northbound SR 167 are also closed at the following locations:

  • Northbound SR 167 on-ramp from SR 18
  • Northbound SR 167 on-ramp from 15th Street Northwest
  • Northbound SR 167 on-ramp from South 277th Street

WSDOT crews are continuing monitor floodwaters from the Green River with local, county and federal partners. Crews have worked continuously to redirect water away from the state highway.

There is no estimated time to reopen the northbound lanes. People should seek alternate routes during the ongoing closure, add extra time to their commute and expect delays along Interstates 5 and 405 and other alternate routes..

Real-time travel information is available via the WSDOT mobile app, the WSDOT travel map or by signing up for WSDOT’s email updates.
