UPDATE: Kent Police announced that they have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal double shooting that killed two men on the East Hill late Tuesday night.

As we previously reported, officers responded at 10:22 p.m. on April 7, 2026, to the 21000 block of 120th Place SE (map below) after receiving multiple reports of gunfire, according to the Kent Police Department. Callers reported hearing an argument before the shooting and said vehicles were leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Sadly, both victims later died despite lifesaving efforts.

Police said a 34-year-old Kent man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon without incident following an intensive investigation by detectives.

Police said detectives spent hours canvassing the neighborhood, interviewing witnesses and developing leads that led to the identification of the suspect.

“With the assistance of Tukwila and Auburn Special Investigation Units, the suspect was located in Kent and the Valley SWAT team and Negotiators were called in to coordinate the suspect’s surrender,” the department said.

Authorities said the suspect was taken into custody without incident and will be booked into the King County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
