The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the suspect wanted in an attempted kidnapping/sexual assault case was identified through DNA as Kevin J. Perkins.

A $500,000 warrant for Kidnapping 1 was issued by the Court, and on Thursday, Oct. 4, with the help of the US Marshalls and the King County Warrants unit, Perkins was arrested in Tukwila and is being booked into the King County Jail.

As we previously reported, on Aug. 13, 2018, around 11:45 p.m., a 16-year old female was walking/jogging in the area of S. 272 Street/42 Ave S. near Star Lake (map below).

The victim turned the corner at S. 272 Street/42 Ave S. where she encountered a dark colored SUV sitting on the right side of the roadway, with a male outside the vehicle.

The victim felt uncomfortable, and started to turn around to go in the other direction, when the suspect grabbed her. The suspect grabbed the victim’s throat and was able to push her into the driver’s seat of the vehicle. The suspect got the victim’s pants partially down and tried to keep her in the vehicle. The victim struggled, kicking the suspect, and he fell down. The victim was screaming for help and honking the vehicles horn. The victim said she was able to scratch the suspects face. When the suspect got back up from falling he tried to grab the victim again. The suspect grabbed the victim and she took off her sweatshirt to get away. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s leg and her shoe came off. Still, the victim was able to run away and flag down a passing vehicle for help.

  • 50-55 years old
