It was a very somber day in Kent on Tuesday, July 31, as a huge procession for fallen Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno made its way from Emerald Downs to the accesso ShoWare Center.
Flags were flown at half-staff throughout the state in honor of Moreno, who tragically lost his life on July 22 in the line of duty.
Moreno’s procession included bagpipes by Seattle Police Pipes & Drums, along with a riderless horse with boots reversed in the stirrups, symbolizing a ‘fallen solider’:

Law enforcement officers came from around the country to take part in Moreno’s funeral:

During the eulogy for Kent Officer Diego Moreno, who graduated from Washington State University, Kent Police Chief Padilla got a laugh when he said that as a Husky it pained him to say the following: ‘Go Cougs’.
