Early Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at around 2:30 a.m., Kent Police officers were contacting a suspicious male with an arrest warrant and a female behind Kentridge High School, located at 12430 SE 208th Street (map below).

Police say that the two fled on foot, and while the arrest on the male was taking place, a Kent Police patrol vehicle was stolen.

The patrol car has since been recovered, and the 38-year old female suspect has been arrested.

Once the patrol car was taken, the Automated Vehicle Locator was activated, which showed it traveling eastbound on I-90. The information involving the stolen patrol car was aired to surrounding agencies and with the assistance of the Washington State Patrol, the female driver was taken into custody in the area of Highway 18 and the I-90 interchange. The vehicle did sustain some damage, but all of its equipment was secure and accounted for.
