Child sustained minor injuries and was taken to Harborview.
About 11 AM this morning, police responded to a call at the Day’s Inn Motel in the 1900 block of International Blvd. A three-year-old boy had fallen out a second story window from the hotel. He hit the awning on the way down, which slowed his fall to the concrete below. The boy sustained a minor shoulder injury but is expected to be OK. He was taken to Harborview by Medic 1 as a precaution.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was staying with his mother and two siblings at the hotel. The two small boys were playing near an air conditioning unit near the window. The window was open but had a screen in place. The mother said she turned her back for a moment when the child fell out the window.
