Kent’s 39th Annual Christmas Rush 5K/10K Fun Run & Walk will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, starting at 8 a.m. at Hogan Park on Russell Road.
The event includes a 5K and 10K walk and run along the scenic Green River.
The Kent Parks Department will follow the King County mandate requiring people ages 12 and over to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test result to participate in the Christmas Rush. Additionally, masking is required.
“With the goal of balancing ease of use for patrons with safety, we will accept photos or copies of vaccine cards/test results or electronic proof,” organizers said.
People ages 12 and over who are not fully vaccinated must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test (taken within 72 hours of the race). Self-reported negative test results that are not from a test provider, laboratory, or health care provider cannot be accepted.
According to King County mandate, these policies will remain in effect through March 16, 2022 and will be reevaluated at that time or sooner based on the status and impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak in King County.
Masks are required in the corral area, finish line and awards. You may remove mask once the race starts.

The Christmas Rush will celebrate 39 years on December 11. It features a 5k run/walk and a 10k run. along the scenic green river. Due to construction taking place near Vandoren’s Landing, the 10k will be an out and back this year.

Awards will be give to the overall winners in each age group following the race.
