Kent Police are investigating a suspicious death after officers responding to reports of gunfire early Wednesday, June 3, found an unconscious woman with significant injuries to her face and head.
Officers responded at approximately 4:20 a.m. on June 3 to a 911 report of shots fired in the 400 block of Alder Lane (map below).
When police arrived, they located an unconscious female with visible injuries. Officers immediately began providing life saving medical aid and were later assisted by medics. Sadly, despite those efforts, the woman died at the scene.
Police said it was not initially confirmed whether the woman had been struck by gunfire or whether she died from another cause.
Kent Police detectives responded to take over the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death, according to police.
